It's a down day.
~ The hearing aids that we were supposed to get tomorrow have been postponed ~ for a WHOLE week.
~When I talk to the insurance company they tell me the hearing aids are covered. When the office calls they are told they aren't.
~The ent Dr. wants a cat scan of little guy's ears which will mean sedation again.
~More unanswered questions than answered.
~The realization that he has yet to hear his toys make noises, the birds, me telling him how much I love him.
I do appreciate the warm support from your comments. They truly are a comfort. I just want to say thanks.
Tomorrow will be better, this I know. But today, not so good.
I'm sorry to hear that the delivery of the hearing aids has been delayed, but keep your head up! They will arrive.
ReplyDeleteI work for a durable medical equipment company, so i know a bit about insurance and certain things not being covered by insurance. There are ways around getting items that are not typically covered by your insurance being paid by them. You can contact the ordering physicians' office and the company that you are getting the hearing aids from and see what diagnosis codes, (icd-9 codes, the insurance company needs in order to approve payment for the hearing aids. The hearing aid company can get a diagnosis and submit a Certificate of Medical Necessity, or CMN, to the ordering Dr. and have him sign it and submit it to you insurance company with a claim or a pre-authorization to the insurance company. If they still refuse to pay, you can file an appeal. Most of the time, with a CMN and a diagnosis proving medical necessity an insurance company will cover items that they say they won't pay for, even if you have to get them from a company that is out of network with your provider. If he has to have them, and it can be proven medically necessary, your insurance company will pay.
Hope this helps.
you and me both....we can be the 'down in the dumps' sisters. I'm starting to ....and your aids will arrive and start the forward forward!! All it takes is t-i-m-e.
